Gilfy Week – Gilfy 109 to Overseas

This is part of the 109 to overseas series showing how you can use a brand’s style with Western retailers.
Previous brands: Delyle, OneSpo, Glad News

I hope everyone’s been looking at the staff-chan coordinates and regular people from mixi to see how they can make a Gilfy look. I  searched 3 easy and cheap stores: Forever 21, Urban Outfitters and YesStyle to gather some pieces for looks. I’m sorry users who are in Asia Japan about using YesStyle. I know when I tried to look at the site when I was in Japan I was immediately blocked :(   Hopefully you guys can still use Urban and Forever 21 for looks :-D

Mitsu, these are my favourite posts of yours! ♥
I tend to stalk YesAsia, so this really helped! That first tee is awesome & I am loving the studded sneakers from FoxCity (I swear, my tax return isn’t even here yet & I’ve got it SPENT, haha XD)
I really hope you’ll keep doing these for more brands :)

It’s blocked to Japan isps at least. I got a redirection screen when I was in Japan saying Yesstyle is not available in my area. Asking a friend who’s in Korea to see if it’s blocked there as well.

You are so nice to put these posts together! I know it takes some time to research and gather the images, it’s soooo thoughtful and useful for us readers! ^^ I had my eye on that sweatshirt dress already, now I just need some money hehe. Those studed sneakers are super cool indeed!

YesStyle is not blocked here in Singapore. :D

Also, I feel that certain brands in YesStyle are extremely overpriced. Many of us Singaporeans never ever buy from there because we can get the same stuff from Taobao ( or from Yahoo! Taiwan ( three to four times cheaper.

In Taobao, try searching for ‘109’ under 女装/女士精品 and be amazed at how many gyaru-inspired clothes there are. :)

Awesome finds! We should team up for a W♥C 109 to Overseas feature some time. I’ve already found a couple pieces that would work pretty well for that sort of brand look. 8DDD

Oooo girl this sounds fabulous! Let’s do it!

I’ve been wanting to ask if you’d also do a guest blog entry on a topic of your choosing. I think you always do an excellent job answering questions so if you’d like to talk about something I’d be 100% for it!

      • February 2, 2010 / 2:22 pm

Sweeeet. I’ll email you the links to the stuff I’ve found so we can collaborate. And I’d be honored to do a guest blog! Just have to think about what would be good topic, hmm…

The reason why YesStyle items seem overpriced is because they buy directly from the brand’s website itself since most oversea buyers are not able to buy it. For example, a Sechuna item was listed as $15 on Yesstyle when it was only $6 on its website.
