Make-up loot and a Gal Meme

MAC #7s are so popular (especially with gals) that Japanese discount superstore Don Quixote (Donki) made their own version. :sparkle2:
I’ve tried both and the MAC version wins on all counts. But at $13.00 vs. $1.50 from Donki, they’re hard not to buy :note:
I’m with bloomzy on spending a bit more to get quality, and wow I’m impressed by this. Along with MAC #7s there are my make love (especially the peach). :sparkle2:
Let’s do a meme
I saw a lovely gal, Ran, over at Ran-gangi.blogspot.com do this gal meme and I thought I’d take it up as well. She has a primarily Spanish-language blog but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying. There are so many non-English gal blogs out there that are much too fun to pass up. :note: Nat in French is an excellent example with gorgeous shoe taste. 
1. Describe your style as a gal.
Lately I’ve been feeling more a girly modern look, but I like celeb, rock and traditional as well.
2. Which models inspire you to get dressed?
Romihi has such great original style. Detsu Kurohi who is an up-and-coming Nuts model (who sometimes appears in Jelly) really inspires me. I love her hair, I love her style, I love her skin, I love HER! 
Momoeri is so inspirational and she should be for all gals. Sakurina despite her grumblings about turning 27 (complete with 1427 comments), I think is gorgeous IRL and I love her ability to mix a very strong rock look with sweet aspects.
3. What are the brands are you wearing lately?
I really like Spiral Girl‘s take on mixing black with florals and Egoist did a great season. Currently while the seasons change I’m wearing a lot w*c (of course), Love Boat and some LaForet in Harajuku brands and my cowboy boots.

4. What was your first thing from 109 (or similar)?
Oh gah I don’t remember. Maybe a mustard colored balloon coat from Shake Shake (it looks better than it sounds).
5. What compliment about your wardrobe do you like best?
I like being called “oshare” or stylish.
6. What do you wear most often?
Scarves and cardigans 
7. I like getting …?
Shoes because good ones are hard to find.

Eyelashes and then nails.
9. What gal rules have you broken?
Hmmm I’m sure I’ve broke them all, but hopefully learned from them :sparkle2:
10. What would you never wear?
I look horrible in red, so I wear it on my nails or shoes. 
11. What do you think is essential for a good look?
Attitude, accessories, and attitude.
12. How do you feel when viewed as a gyaru?
Uhhh okay I guess… I was in Egoist a few years back with my hair straight but with teased and exte and the staff-chan said, sugoku gyaru mitai ne (You look very gyaru) and in the way that Japanese deflect compliments I was just like ie ie ie sonno kotto nai (i.e. no no no not at all). I’m was more just like uhhh I’m in a 109 store and you’re telling this to the lone whitey there, but she meant more trad-gyaru. 
13. You have many friends that are gals?
Some, but really I don’t care if my friends are gals or gyaru-o. I’m more happy having positive, funny people around me that like to have fun than caring about what brand they’re in
Me and my friend Seb, who I wouldn’t trade for anyone else.
14. What is the next thing you plan to buy desperately need?
I want some heeled Oxfords and the open-strap pumps like the ones from Gimlet.
15. What’s your favorite accessory?
Right now it’s scarves and bracelets. Love both
Lately I’m all about wearing a bunch of different styles of bracelets all together. Cheap or expensive, shiny or flat I don’t care. I just like the mix :sparkle2:
16. Sexy, monotone or elegant?
Errr of those I’d rather be monotone, but I’d rather dress-up and be in something playful. In my opinion everyday should be dress-up
17. Would you wear clothes that aren’t in fashion? (this one might have gotten lost in translation)
Hmmm it depends on what is considered in fashion. If something is comfortable and cute but I got it years ago, I’ll still wear it Cute is cute, yanno? 
18. What is your current obsession?
Scarves, florals, and oxfords.

19. Do you like to spread gal fashion? How do you do it?
Sure! The more the merrier in my opinion I taught my colorist how to crystal deco, I give my hairstylist gal and gyaruo magazines, I send my nailist gal websites, and hopefully this blog helps 
20. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
Everything I said in Gal Guide + Vision and… to start quietly. I know many girls who see it on-line and want to show everyone how great their look is, but honestly no one is perfect starting out. So keep the first few make-up, hair and coordinates to yourself, just take pics and think okay maybe I could do this to look better and critique bits of yourself or find a few gals that can aid you.
Because it seems a cruel crop of girls have sprung up to cut new gals down who post on forums. I just hate it. We’re all not perfect, but we all can be nice. :upheart:
I really like Matsumoto Ena‘s opinion about her blonde bob “おっきめであまり似合ってないけどそんなことは気にしません” I realize it might not suit me, but I don’t care. She likes what she likes, and that’s a fine personality to have.

I liked reading that meme, I also think that it’s horrible how some girls are chatted up by other gals in communties and things like that. This also happenend to me a lot, but I just try my best within gal fashion also I haven’t got that much money.

Yeah I’m so happy that wedges are still in. I have a pair that I’ve had for 2 years and even through 2 repairs I’ll wear them til they die. They’re so comfy!

I have a huge makeup collection like you too! But not as extensive haha, are MAC #7s that good? Pehaps I should give it a try, I buy my lashes from Daiso now, cheap but good!
I kept hearing the hype and seeing models in magazines choose them and I was like of like… so… they’re JUST eyelashes.
But I think they’re much more bendable and easier to put on than the cheaper ones and the way the lashes are spaced blends in with your eyelashes really well

I bought my basket back nearly 2 years ago but never decorated it with more than just some roses but since I’m really bad at sewing I had to try decorating it with a scarf this time. haha
my jewelry isn’t that well organized at all. actually those on the photo are just those I use on a daily basis but everything I don’t use is in the drawer beneath and it’s not really organized ;D

I agree about the whole hair/make-up thing. I only post it on my blog/communities if I think it’s good enough. I’m really nervous about posting coordinates etc. coz there are a lot of people who can be a little rude. But you know how I feel, as I mention it on my blog a lot lol

I hope you can get them fixed! After Japan I bring a bag of shoes home with me that need to be fixed from dead heels and scuffs and all the nasty that comes with Japanese streets

Are MAC #7 really that good? They look more like something to wear when going out, rather than using on a daily basis. They hardly sell any good false lashes over here, and I’ve been doubting on getting the MAC ones because they seem to be used quite a lot in gal magazines. Though it’s a bit hard on budget cause they are expensive (they put on extra fee here because of the import >.>).

Like MAC lashes, these are also human hair. I’ve used Ardell lashes before and they’re very good quality. They also manage to hold up surprisingly well before needing to be replaced.

I’m definately interested in getting MAC#7, I’ll go see sometime later this week whether the small MAC section in the department store sells them or not.
@Aimi: thanks for the suggestion =3 It seems that the store which sells them isn’t in my country (the Netherlands), but is in Germany (in a city about 30 min. away from me). I’ll be visiting that city over a month or two anyway, and appears to be in the main centre shopping area, so I’m definately checking it out. (especially since it’s that cheap!)

I have a serious obsession with “what’s in your bag” posts. I’m definitely going to do one someday when I start posting on my LJ again. I’ve just been too busy with work lately to sit down and write one up.
Those spiky MAC lashes look really similar to the ones we have at work….they’re called Demi-Pixies by Ardell, we sell them at Sally’s and I think they’re maybe $2.99 or $3.49 a pair. Plus we always run sales where you buy two pairs and get the third free, or buy two pairs and get a tube of lash glue free. I just went through my bathroom cabinet a few weeks ago and found 6 pairs I bought during one of the B2G1 sales. I’m addicted, I know.
So are the L’Oreal HiP pigments really that good? I’ve been thinking about investing in some, but I don’t usually spend so much on shadows because I love to have a ton of different shades to work with.
