Versailles is love

I’ve been so lazy to put up more Paris pics (previous ones here here and here ), but damn you fashion for being so distracting. I need to finish soon since my man & I are heading somewhere tropical next month :note:

If there was a tumblr of fuckyeahversailles I’d subscribe. Hell I’d make one :!: Versailles is so amazing, just opulent, ostentatious, and royal. For those who have seen the Marie Antoinette movie it’s that and more. If you ever plan to visit make a day of it since it’s huge and you’ll want to enjoy the palace grounds. :hearts2:

The Gates to the Palace of Versailles. I look so silly in this pic and I love it

Let’s play where’s Waldo Mitsu. I just love how tremendously golden the gates were.

Standing outside the Palace, it was so cold so it feels so weird to be typing this in shorts.

I love how the Bas Relief cherubs look like they’re gossiping. “I can’t believe that bitch wore that color!” :P

The Chapel of Versailles. Opulent!

For some reason I always image palaces to drab, but each room just burst with bright color.

The famous Hall of Mirrors. PACKED! I didn’t care, it just felt remarkable to be there

And uhhh this is my room, jk. But gold and cream, sinful!

Marie Antoinette’s bed when she stayed in the castle. All these lovely flower prints make me think of the wonderful gal mini dresses for Spring. :sparkle2:

I just love all the brocades. It makes me want to brocade a wall. :sparkle2:

Me looking like a dork presenting the painting. I was in w*c in Versailles. For some reason that still makes me incredibly happy :cheery: Hell to bring a bit o’ gal to Versailles is fabulous too :loveword:

And then they have gift shops that are so tasteful and pretty. This is Laduree, started in 1862 it’s a world famous pastry shop. There’s even one in Ginza. :stars: They make the worlds best macarons hands down. HailtotheChic has a fabulous talk about them along with other eateries in Paris here.

Chocolate Mice with the most adorable cover and a matching Cat box filled with chocolate dipped Milanos. :loveword:

More gorgeous chocolate confections.

They even have candles and other lovely girly things. I regret not getting the pink one :upheart:

I did however buy the macaroons and really they make every other macaron I’ve tried taste like a dry cracker. They’re heaven!

And the white chocolate roses. I haven’t eaten them yet. I can’t bear to. Look how beautiful they are :loveword:

Since we’re already reaching 20 pics, I’ll say byebye for now and do Marie’s country estate and the grounds later :hearts2:

My leg looks chubby in this pic, but well that’s what two layers of thick leggings and flexing does, screw it I still love this picture LOL :hearts2:

I was actually in awe of how much I loved Versailles. My place in the states is such the opposite of it since I live in a restored loft in a highrise in the middle of a city with exposed brick, concrete floors and piping. It’s quite modern. But yet I was still thinking how I could gold leaf my walls and add some brocade. :cheery: I guess that’s what the beauty of Versailles does to people.

If you need even more princess fabulous, the ever sparkling Violet Le Beaux has done a wonderful Hime FAQ that is a worthwhile read for any gal lover.

Next up on the Doll: Character Goods x Gal Stores, Let’s Purikura, a new giveaway, Lip Service 109 to Overseas, and a lot more. My man is on a business trip so I shall put my missing him into blogging hehee :note:

      March 24, 2010 / 4:45 pm

Oh pish-tosh. I was cheery in those. I didn’t care if my toes were freezing in my shoes and my hands got numb a minute after pulling them out, everything was too gorgeous to care. :-D

Yesh the Shin Okubo donki is the best, and it’s surrounded by Korean food and Korean fangirl shops since it’s Koreantown. Afterwards you can drool at large pics of Rain and the rest after you shop :!:

      March 24, 2010 / 4:48 pm

I’m a dork, you know it  Oh dear I’m terribly excited to see. Brocade or scrollwork painting? :-D I admit the back wall of my bedroom is looking rather bare and could use a little Princess treatment.

  10. March 23, 2010 / 11:21 pm

Oh, I´d love to go to Versailles one day! :hearts:
I´ve been to Paris two times already but time was never enough to go there

I've heard alot of lauduree, their packging is awesome, at first I thought your chocolate roses were candles! Haha, but yea I agree, they're too pretty to be eaten. Maybe one little nibble on a petal here and there?

Thank you for posting such wonderful pics you keep feuling my bonfire of a dream to spend some quality time at Versailles, I’ve been in love with it since I saw a photo of the hall of mirrors in the 4th grade…. and yet I may never get there! *stares at bank account with saddness*

I have to agree with brocading a wall it just makes the room so rich and makes the walls appear eleant and lavish!

    • Mitsu
      March 24, 2010 / 5:05 pm

Happy to do so! I agree, Versailles was top of my list for Paris. My man was complaining we had to supposedly waste a day there, but once he saw it he shut up  heheeh
