Shop Staff Snaps #2
Posted October 23rd, 2010 by MitsuI know writing in my Gal Myth post that I said shop staff aren’t everyday gals, and I still stand by that. It is rare outside of shop staff to see someone fully decked out in one brand.
However, I cannot help but admire the lengths shop staff go to in order to conform to their brand. Also, how they make their own personal style within that brand. For regular gals like me, they are the ones to idolize. Models are photoshopped on pages we see maybe monthly, but shop staff are always there working their hardest to look perfect within the brand and gal.
In stores you get an immediate sense on how to coordinate the shop’s looks by seeing 5 examples in front of you. It’s so much visual information!! Shop staff are like magazines you can talk to. I frequently ask their opinions on coordinates, or colors. They do not simply fold clothes, they are your guide to the brand.

Gold’s Infinity

Her look really empitomizes what Golds Infinity is going for this season.
The Golds Infinity touch to her leg warmers was a gold heart and chain on them. They’re so cute 
Behind her are the softest fur coats in 109. I just stood there petting them for a while 
I was admiring her lovely simple gel nails.
These type of nails are most common on shop staff. Pretty, but don’t get in the way of doing manual labor. :hands:
EMODA

Sayaka was my shop staff for the day, but she was too embarrassed to do the shot alone so she dragged Irie in. I’m not complaining!
I absolutely love Sayaka’s playful twist on mode style.
If you’d like to have a lovely time shopping at EMODA, the best place is Ikebukuro PARCO inside Tokyo

My Arisa wasn’t there (of which I was reminded of ehehe) but this is the fab Hiromi who was awesome waiting until I picked out all my merchandise so I could get the novelty.
There she is holding it, a fabulous Kumatan umbrella! Ahhh I will be so sad when I lose it (in Japan it’s inevitable :worry: )

Royal Party is one of the sort of fringe gal shops. Royal Party “muse muse” on the 1st floor of 109 stocks some of the same merchandise. They’re on the same floor as MURUA in MARUI JAM.

Aaahhhhh, I only wish I could talk to shop staff! They are so inspirational!! I love these kinds of posts, they make me so happy and excited! The staff girls from Emoda are soo cute!
They really are. So much of what they do with their own personal style is so inspiring. I’m impressed each time I meet one.

I agree with you totally that they are more inspirational than actual models because they are much more realisitc and easier to relate to 
I wish i could talk to shop staff in 109 but my Japanese is very limited

In Japan it rains often and you have to stick your umbrella outside convience stores, and leave it setting in dressing rooms. There’s so many options, but I promise. It’s hard to keep one for a while
I never knew about shop staffs before I read your post. I think it’s so interesting but your post is even more interesting! They all look amazing and makes me wish I was in Japan again and not as stingy because shopping in Japan is kind of expensive and I didn’t buy much last time haha.

I totally agree with your assessment of shop staff, they are like living representations of their brands and they put a lot of effort into their looks. They are also very good at selling (well most of them) and flattering haha.
I love the Golds Infinity girl, she’s just waaaay too adorable. If I was petite and cute I’d try to go for that style haha.
The Emoda girls are great, I’m seeing so much mode style lately, I think they are the people to be looking towards. Sometimes I think my looks would suit mode style more than rock style, but I want to keep trying with rock haha.
hahaha just you wait Hana and I will bring you to the mode dark side. Muhahahaa!
The Golds Infinity girl was so nice. I was mega mode that day so I didn’t think the GI girls would be too kind to that, but she definitely was. I hope she continues to do such a cute job, I love her short hair.
I love seeing these pictures of shop staffs, I always think that “real” pictures are more inspiring than those from the magazines
I so agree. Also I think photoshopping sometimes makes people a little less human

Chiharu’s outfit is just so cute! I love seeing this kind of pictures. Maybe they’re not everday gals, but they’re so inspirational and fab! In my country, shop staff girls are just people who sell you some clothes without even looking at you
Yea I love how shop staff can be so amazing even though they’re doing the same job people do world wide. When it becomes gal or a niche fashion in Japan they just take a certain pride in it. :butterfly:

I love shopping in Japan – like you said the shop staffs are such an inspiration! But I always feel terrible when I try the items on lol does not look as good as them
I always wanted to ask if their feet suffers, wearing heels working all day must not be fun!
Awwwh I’m sure there’s an outfit you would own just as well as the shop girls in the stores
They do admit to their feet hurting in an issue of Vivi 109 the Guide #2.
If I could I’d spend all my paycheck at Golds Infinity, by far my favorite gal store!!

It’s so nice to see the garments on ‘real girls’ with other body types than I see in the magazines. Irie from Emoda’s coordinate looks so dreamy! Really feeling the pull of mode style of late, I need to get cracking!
