Around Kobe part 2

I have lots of pictures to edit and show and sometimes I forget to do so. :sage: One example is this set of pictures I took in Kobe back in December (part of the set I took here). I think Kobe is a really great city, if you’re interested in more Kansai I’ve got more pictures to come but until then you can check out Atashida’s new blog called Kansai Gyaru Salarymen and her advertures around Kobe and the Kansai region.  :upheart:

The popular TV personality and Edge Style model Jun Komori advertising a dating site.

Mountains are a common view around Kobe, which is nestled between the ocean and mountains making it a popular port town. The wide streets were redone after the Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995.

Most every scenic view in Japan has a tourist trap ropeway, or a tower if you’re in Tokyo :worries: . However it’s cool to see from a different view.

Kobe’s wide sidewalks and pleasantly covered walkways. So nice when it’s raining or too sunny out. Tokyo’s one of the only cities I’ve seen not use covered walkways as much.

Such a silly named place had delicious desserts.

As in every city, character advertising is popular in Kobe. This one for a crepe and juice place.

Signs advertising Girls Bars in Japan. You can tell one is more K-pop influenced. Girls bars are like hostess clubs but less regulated and women sit behind the bar. They’re quite popular in nightlife districts. More about them here.

Typical sign infront of a porn store reminding those that those under 18 cannot enter.

Thank you so much ladies for your comments on the travel post. I’ll be adding them to the post in a few days, just waiting for more comments and info. I’m loving hearing your experiences and tips thus far

I can’t believe that, in all the times I’ve been to Osaka, I’ve never made it to Kobe. It’s not even that far from where I live, only four hours by highway bus. I need to just go up there one weekend, make a mini-trip out of it. Your pictures are fab – they really make me want to go! :)
