Shop Staff Pictures #9 – Liz Lisa spotlight, 109 Machida, & shop staff updates

My friend Alice and I have really enjoyed all the Spring Liz Lisa items, that makes for lots of chances to take to shop staff pictures. This post is to highlight some great Liz Lisa girls, also to show a bit of Machida 109 & updates on two shop staff in previous snaps.

Liz Lisa – Harajuku Main Store

She’s showing off their special 2/25-3/1 sale coordinate where you can buy both shirt and top for 8400 yen, which is quite a deal considering both cost usually 6000-7000yen separately.

Liz Lisa – Ikebukuro

Some more great shop staff from Ikebukuro Liz Lisa. They are all nice and happy to chat away.

Liz Lisa – Harajuku Main Store

After Tokyo Girls Collection my friend Alice needed to Liz Lisa some more so we went to the Harajuku main store. She’s a Korean by birth, but spent all her life in Japan.

Liz Lisa for March was putting out a special dress or set in all of their stores. Here is a Harajuku shop staff showing off their special dress. It looked horrendous on me, but it’s cute on her :upheart:

Liz Lisa – Machida 109

She’s wearing the onepiece of the skirt I have. I just love her style and coordinate.

Her hair is actually a loose braid and really looks so lovely. I sadly forgot to take a picture of her nails which said in 3-d acrylic “Liz Lisa” on two fingers and “Machida” on one finger. Way to represent your brand!

Machida 109

It was actually my first time to Machida (Yokohama) 109. Alice and I wanted to check on the “genpi” (special to store) Liz Lisa onepiece. Machida is a bit of a trek, but the staff at all the stores seemed nice and they had a decent selection of stores.

The building entrance is definitely not as fancy as Shibuya 109. But had a cute opening and renewal sign.

To highlight its connection to 109, there’s a painting above the entryway of the tower-of-power.  :bowhouse:

It was later in the day on a Sunday when I went so I can’t judge crowds or styles. Nothing much to say about Machida, sorry  :worries:

Congrats to Shop Staff

Two shop staff featured on this blog have now moved to do modeling for their respective webstores. They both have the nickname Tomo, too! That’s really cool news for them, and a step into a career and not just a minimum wage job  :upheart:

Congrats to Ma*rs’ Tomo (who has lovely nails as usual) she was featured in post #6

I’m especially happy for ReDark’s Tomo who has taken over as the ReDark webstore model. Tomo is one of the nicest girls I’ve met. She always has a kind word to say and if I’m with friends while shopping at 109, she always wants to meet them. We run into each other outside of 109, she’s stops to say hello, and I think she just has amazing personal style. She was featured in the Kobe, Osaka, Tokyo shop staff post.

Really cute pictures from the Liz Lisa stores, thank you! :hearts: I’m in love with the shoes of the Ikebukuro shop staff. Also Tomo is adorableee and sounds really nice, I’m glad to hear she’s taking over as their webstore model~! :korila:

    • Mitsu says:

The Ikebukuro girls are amazing, always have a kind word and smiling ^_^

Go go Tomo! I’m so happy for her ^_^

  2. Mari says:

Loving the shop staff photos as always!!

I was actually a bit worried with the title shop staff updates, I thought they graduated or something nonpositive. XD

  3. Maki says:

I remember that first girl! She was my girl when I last visited that shop. I always love your shop staff photos, it’s so fun to see how the girls represent the style and the difference between various store locations.

    • Mitsu says:

Oooo how cool!! I love see girls I know in snaps ^_^ Isn’t it a cool feeling! Thanks as always for your positive words ♥

  4. Himeko says:

are those liz lisa staff considered as gals? coz i’m really confused with what a gal should look like because of all the rules i see on gal comms.

    • Mitsu says:

Of course they are! That’s just silly! Liz Lisa is one of the original gal brands. It was actually a mamba brand in the beginning. It’s been around for almost 13 years. They do a more girly and “white gal” style (that’s what Popteen is referring to it as). Gal has a wide variety of styles, silly people are shutting the doors on certain gal types >_<

      • Himeko says:

i am talking more about their makeup and hair. they aren’t “over-the-top” and i can even say that their hair and makeup is simple and can be worn for everyday without looking overdone. i actually really like it. they aren’t loaded up on eyeliner and false lashes. the thing is, reading what people have to say in gyaru comms really confuses me. i see other girls who look like that but say that it isn’t gal, etc etc.

sorry for my stupid question. lol.

        • Becky says:

I was in Liz Lisa in Shibuya 109 today and all the staff were wearing loads of false lashes and eyeliner, and way overdone hair.

          • Mitsu says:

That’s their style for the season, it just doesn’t show up as much in photographs. Although it’s 109… what else to expect?

        • Mitsu says:

Well they do wear a lot of eyeliner and lashes. They’ve been wearing heart stickers on their faces sometimes too. They aren’t light on the make-up, just the dressing. The thing is make-up doesn’t show up well on camera with indoors lighting like shops have, if it does chances are they’re wearing way too much IRL.

  5. Tori says:

Wow, that’s so amazing about the 2 staff-chan who are now modeling! Mitsu, you can be like a talent scout, haha!!

    • Mitsu says:

hahahaa I’d fail! I think both of them are also outgoing which help people warm to them, not just customers but I’m sure others in their jobs ^_^

  6. Dizzy says:

ReDark’s Tomo makes me happy I chopped off some of my hair. For a while, I was seriously regretting it because all of the gal models have super long pretty hair. But Tomo rocks it and makes the fashion look great. ^w^

    • Mitsu says:

Oh great!!! Doesn’t she!!! Each time I see her I always have to compliment her on her lovely hair. She really is an inspiration to me on style and originality. ^_^

  7. J. Aira says:

    Sugoi~! (^O^)

I ♥ the Liz Lisa store.
So kawaii. :D I wish I could go to Japan. (TT3TT)

  8. I love the dresses they were wearing they were very pretty and cute!!

  9. I’m happy to see a post about Liz Lisa!! Although I don’t wear Liz Lisa, I really love the clothing! It’s really so cute! ^^

Oh, I have seen that Ma*rs model before, and I’m happy to hear about her success into modeling! I wish I could say the same haha I’m still here with my little job :worries:

    • Mitsu says:

They really do some cute things, don’t they ♥

Hhehee oh dear, at least it’s good to cheer others ^_^

  10. Judy says:

by the way, i forgot to email you but i received the liz lisa dress i purchased from you~ thanks so much! :korila:

    • Mitsu says:

      So happy you got it!

Their trench coat was so cool! I love trench coats, but theres especially was quite lovely!

  11. Asuka says:

    awww they look so cute.
I wish I could have all of their clothes *-*

  12. bloomzy says:

    Lovely pics :hearts:
Awww I love MAR*S Tomo. I remember her being lovely and sweet when I went in store. I always love a shop staff who wants to chat or just offer advice

  13. hello e says:

Hello Mitsu! Do you know how old these girls are and is there age limit for the girls to work at Liz Lisa / 109 stores? Like can one be too old to work there? I was just wondering since the job looks so different from the “normal” sales :curiousmo: And also, do u know if the stores change their staff often or are there girls who would have a real and long career as a sales clerk? Thanks!

    • Mitsu says:

Age limit depends on brand usually it’s 18-25, although it can be up to 35 for some brands (usually accessory shops). Most prefer girls be out of high school first, but some make exceptions.

  14. Stacey says:

I don’t really like Liz Lisa, it’s too cute for me, but these shop staff were the brand really well! The last one especially I find

Congrats to the new models, I really like ReDark’s Tomo’s style! :yayyay:

    • Mitsu says:

Isn’t her style cute?! Off work she’s got such an original look, too.

I really loved the last girl, too. She worked hard to represent ^_^

  15. Kat R. says:

I always love looking at coordinates by Liz Lisa, even though it’s more-or-less the exact opposite of my personal style :yayforyay: It’s so frilly and feminine and romantic!

I love MA*RS, ReDark and short-haired gals, so it was nice seeing so many things that I’m fond of all in one post! Congratulations to the new models, as well! I really liked seeing them when they were first featured, so it’s good to see that they’re going places! :hearts:

    • Mitsu says:

Hehehe I feel the same way about some agejo or rock pieces. I love seeing it, even if it’s not me ^_^

Short haired gals to me are amazing. I’m always in awe of their personal style ^_^ They usually don’t fit into one short haired mold, but experiment a lot ^_^

  16. kalai says:

love these shop staff photos^^ seems so cool to work for a fashion house in japan.. i wish 3-d acrylic nails were appropriate for my job.lol~ xx

  17. Kate says:

<3 liz lisa!! thanks for the pis!! :3

  18. Becky says:

I have a question….I was in Liz Lisa today and in my very poor Japanese I asked if I could go into one of the little dressing rooms at the back of the shop. The staff girl told me that I can’t try on the clothes. Is that normal or were they just being firm with me because I’m gaijin? Why do they have changing rooms?

    • Mitsu says:

No. It’s just about certain things like shirts or such. Tops that can’t be unbottoned.

At Liz Lisa dresses are okay, some tops that can be unbottoned and all shorts. Japanese brands are all picky about such things (except for One*Spo they’ll let you try on anything).

  19. Becky says:

Thanks! That makes me feel better!

  20. so cute…
    and lovely girl
