w♥c for Spring catalog and shop staff shots
Posted January 26th, 2012 by MitsuSuper popular gyaru brand w♥c （ダブルシー website) just released its new catalog and already the pieces are showing up in stores. Wakatsuki Chinatsu revealed she is 5 months pregnant (first reported on in English by bloomzy) yet she shows no signs of slowing down. w♥c fans should be happy of the mix of typical w♥c style and trends.

I love the background color change of each of these photos. I think it’s such a Spring-style look. While most catalogs focus on the concept of summer and sleeveless items, w♥c was intelligent and knows that in May you’re often carrying around a cardigan to keep yourself warm at night so a true spring/summer concept isn’t really fitting for quite a few months.

w♥c shop staff in Spring looks
I think w♥c might be my favorite shop staff of all time. Their personality, individual style and downright beauty is all wonderful. Lots of shop staff girls, especially the Osaka HEP5 ladies are really attaching themselves to the Spring coordinates now.
A few trends to note from the shop staff: high blush, denim outers, sweaters over floral dresses, and hair ribbon barrettes.

There are new items from the webstore and the shop staff are displaying most of the items really well, but I thought I’d point out a few not as well displayed by the shop staff.
Hats are not as trending right now, but the light powder colors (grey and yellow) may help.
Their chiffon and lace combination dress should be popular.

Setsubun novelty
w♥c for its joy of using Chinese kanji and Americana obsession it’s also one of the most Japanese respecting brand. To celebrate their Spring releases they are giving away a mask for Setsubun. Which is a holiday (although not a national holiday aka no school holiday) usually February 3rd or 4th that celebrates the arrival of Spring.
“In modern days, the most commonly performed setsubun ritual is the throwing of roasted beans around one’s house and at temples and shrines across the country. When throwing the beans, you are supposed to shout “Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!” (“Devils out, happiness in”). Afterwards you should pick up and eat the number of beans, which corresponds to your age.”

Usually at temples they throw beans at people in Oni masks. It’s a big fun holiday for kids. Hey you get to throw things!

That was a picture of the ones I got in Japanese language school last year when we had to learn about Setsubun.

Ahhhh! I love this collection! Mind you, I love the majority of the WC collections,
, but some of this stuff is especially cute, and wearable (because…..some of it is not that wearable locally) 
These fun designs really make me look forward to spring and summer! I’ve never been a follower of w♥c to be honest, but this season there are lots of clothes I’d like to wear- for example the yellow lace top dress or the shirt with the face print in the first catalog shot. As you already said, the catalog looks great due to the constant background changes and the setsubun novelty is such a thoughtful novelty gift- when I get to Japan again I definitely have to check out their store
For the record…Chinatsu’s hair is perfect in every shot…WHY CAN’T MY HAIR BE LIKE THAT??? I love the sailor sweater!!
