Econeco Makeup エコネコ is a collaboration between illustrator Econeco (site) and Doshisha cosmetics (site). Econeco is an illustrator that does mostly retro style sweets and circus animals art and Doshisha is a small cosmetics company known for its collaborations with Hello Kitty and Rilakkuma.
Econeco makeup has put out a foundation in two colors, a blush in two colors (seen above), a handcream in three scents and a lip balm in 3 scents.
I knew nothing about this and just bought what I saw was a cute product, good price (1280 yen = $13.00) with good coverage.
Econeco’s “Airy Touch Foundation” (エコネコエアリータッチファンデーション) comes in two colors: Light Ochre ライトオークル and Natural Ochre ナチュラルオークル. I’m reviewing it in Light Ochre.
Really pretty art right? I also love how the packaging is not one but three colors: pink, mint and lavender.
It comes with a sponge applicator and handy side popping tray to keep bacteria away from the product.
It’s advertisted to:
mattifying skin to reduce the appearance of pores
contain aroma oils of rosemary and rosewood
gentle on skin
I have skin that needs a stronger coverage (pale, freckles, dark spots, past acne battles). But I’m pleasantly impressed by Econeco Airy Touch Foundaton.

Just-the-facts Econeco Makeup Review

– inexpensive price 1280yen
– travel & purse friendly
– refillable container (890 yen only)
– medium to full coverage
– hard to find
– sponge round applicator not good for creases

Final thoughts: Delivers on its selling points. I found it great to carry around for touch-ups. It also did not feel heavy when I wore it for 12 hours. Not my go to foundation, but a quality product that definitely traveled with me. I have bought the refill so already repurchased.
