It’s a shame I don’t blog about SLY much because it’s a massive chain of gyaru stores. SLY is always in popular gal malls, but its edgy enough that a lot of fashionable types not into gal go for its fun accessories and other interesting looks. Below is a rundown of their catalog for this season, shop staff style, and other news.

Continuing on with nails that inspire me is definitely Glad News. If I had to pick a gyaru brand I love more than any this season it’d be Glad News.

ByeBye is an Onee brand I haven’t talked about. It’s owned by the same people as One*Spo (1, 2) and OneWay. It’s in several gyaru malls like Ikebukuro Parco and Nagoya Passe, however it’s not in Shibuya 109. ByeBye’s prices are always quite nice and they do an adult sweet gyaru style that is less structured than JugeETTA.
ByeBye has no catalog, no webstore, a horrible website (http://bemss.jp/bye-bye/), but it does have a series of shop staff blogs that are great and inspiring. Lots of good coordinates and hair inspiration below. Is it gyaru? Somewhat. It’s the border of Oneegyaru and simple Onee-kei, but for those who are enjoying gyaru in their adulthood may want to check out this brand.
Also I think the shop staff accessorize quite well, so even though this is not my style it does remind me the importance of a nice long necklace and the cuteness of a good hat.

Remember to subscribe to the Universal-Doll Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/UniversalDoll (affectionally known as “Dollface book”). Lately I’m posting everyday about small gyaru news like gyaru x hello kitty collaborations, Spring hair inspiration from an Osaka salon, and Vanquish shop staff coordinates.
This post deserves a bit of backstory. During my trip last November I decided to take a day trip to Nagano. One of the things I wanted to do was go see the snow monkeys.
I was rushing to make the tour bus that goes there so once I got on the bus I read the instructions about the monkey park. It was an hour drive to get there and then an 1 hour and a half hike to see the monkeys. Multiplying that by two in my head, I realized it would take 6 hours, it was already 2:30. I couldn’t possibly make it to dinner with Mirukut in Sendai!
However I was already on the bus!
Full on panic mode ensued!
The bus driver when hearing my situation let me out in the middle of nowhere at a bus stop and told me the buses wouldn’t come until later that day so it was best to walk to a train station. Which he said was generally over there in a small neighborhood. With those simple directions I got out of the bus on the highway and I was alone on the side of the road on the outskirts of Nagano.
If you don’t feel like reading a story, just enjoy the pictures. But if not, scroll for descriptions.

Bow belts seems to be a trend going all across lots of styles of gyaru. There’s tons of different styles to suit your preference and body shape. It’s a small accessory trend, but one that’s easy to replicate with Western stores and is a thoughtful addition to an outfit.

Other than the Liz Lisa chain style it was super easy to find ones that look like what the gyaru brands are doing this season. Most were under $30.00, the eBay ones are all $10.00 or under with free shipping. For the eBay ones, search “bow belt” or “obi belt” for the type you enjoy.
For the Cecil McBee and Rienda types just get a long, thin scarf at a thrift store
