Shop staff week at the Doll as we ring in 2015, including this cutey from Liz Lisa in Okayama Ichibangai main trainstation mall. I’ve snapped pictures of the Liz Lisa staff here before  and I’m glad I’ve got a new shop staff to show. I took her last year at the same time I got to snap the Dazzlin Okayama cutey.

Okayama which is halfway between Hiroshima and Osaka is known as a transit town. Many of the trains going to the far West to Fukuoka and Kagoshima change over in Okayama. It does however have a cool castle, stellar gardens, and is pretty during sakura season. It may not be a big tourist draw, but it’s a nice day trip and has lots of shopping options between Okayama Ichibangai train station mall and Okayama OPA.

Liz Lisa Christmas trees are the best! So happy I got to snap it along with classic Liz Lisa style. I also got to snap the tree with a Harajuku Takeshita Liz Lisa shop staff.

That casual girly gyaru style. I’m sad thigh-high boots aren’t en vogue this year but they’ll definitely come back.

Classic Liz Lisa style shows you can never go wrong with a camel coat and and you can always transform your summer dress wardrobe to winter with the right accessories.

She was so photogenic! I always take snaps from the “selfie high angle” because I want to take pictures of how I want pictures taken of me, but she didn’t need any angles.

Her contacts and make-up look so nice on her. Gold circle lens are so popular now and she really does the make-up to make them pop. And those Otona casual waves I’m sure she spent a long time on look effortless.

From the side you can see her lovely orange blush and soft waves. Her nails were older so she didn’t want photos, but they’re lovely. Red it seems goes with any style.

Her petite Chanel necklace really hung well to suit her neckline. Lovely all around style.

Okayama may be a smaller town but from what I’ve seen that doesn’t stop any of the shop staff from having great style.

Looking for more Liz Lisa posts? I’ve got you covered! So many Liz Lisa shop staff to come and mentions about their new style soon. But for now check out previous posts here

Scawaii August issue is a packed issue that I love to pieces. It has more Chinatsu Wakatsuki than you could hope for. However, the best piece was a sneak preview into future FALL trends! :heart:

TA-DA! Monster fur!

Fall’s Trend is Monster Fur

The hit is fluffy cartoon-like fur!!

I did mention in Ask Anything that I saw fur would be trending, and woot it is! :sparkle2:

From the SCawaii Insert: It’s still hot but there’ll be a shift change in Winter!! Which brings news of trend items. Immediately the Number One hit will be VOLUME FUR! It looks like you’re wearing a kigurumi on your legs. Fuzzy boots, leg warmers, bag, vest and coat will be the new items coming out in stores. Even though it will feel strange seeing Winter items in during Spring, and you’re think “Isn’t that early!?”. But, get the Monster Fur items for when it does become Winter!

Why it’s showing up in Gal

The first thing when I see a trend is I wonder where it’s from. This time it seems quite obvious it’s a rift of Chanel’s Fall 2010 RTW collection.

Taking place around an imported iceberg into Paris, Chanel’s collection was fur on fur on fur.

New look for the Doll. I hope to tweak it more, but I’m absolutely pathetic when it comes to coding. ^_^;;

High + Low + Everywhere

It’s very common to see gals carry brand bags. While other brand is not thought of as much, brand bags are very popular. Boys tend to buy them for their girlfriends on birthdays, anniversaries or Christmas. Tokyo and other big cities have a large resale market (although fakes do exist), many of my Japanese friends admit to buying resale to stay cheap or from getting their brand from their boyfriends. Egg last year’s Christmas survey said most were asking for a bag from their boyfriends. A professor at my school said Japanese high brand stores often ignore Japanese women going into shop since they are only looking and will not buy for themselves.

Ever since arriving in 1978 and transforming itself during the boom era of the 1980s, Vuitton is a very strong brand in Japan. Currently the Japanese account for 55% of Louis Vuitton sales. If you’re curious, I suggest this great book: Louis Vuitton Japan: The Building of Luxury.

I find the percentage slightly amusing, since many Japanese and Koreans look to go to Guam or Hawaii for the cheaper luxury goods (as I said earlier in my heading to Japan entry). Luxury houses based on regional currency fluctuations against Europe tend to price their goods lower in certain markets and higher in others. Currently Japan and Korea are the most expensive places to buy brand.

While Vuitton reigns supreme, there are several medium brands that are edging into the market. Much as I hate to admit it, Kitson’s sparkle bags are roaming Tokyo ever since they opened up their store in La Foret in Harajuku. I personally think most are hideous, but they’re really taken off with gals.

A gal couple in Kyoto. Her with her sparkle Kitson bag.

Also, just like in the mainstream Western media, Japanese are picking up on the high-low trend. Blenda, Nuts, Jelly and Ageha use American/British celeb style to showcase 109 + brand (most as bags). Ageha is a totally different story (more in the Agejo FAQ), but high brand is definitely in right now for gals.

Mitsu’s Bag Check

This was asked by malignita, and I have been meaning to do this ^_^;;

I am a big brand whore. I thoroughly admit I lust over Chanel and Louis Vuitton like it was made out of strawberries, champagne and orgasms. This is not my whole collection. I also like the jewelry and sunnies, but I’ve been collecting for a very long while.
